Updates
Quite a few updates to share:
- Our home refinance application was approved!!! This is exciting as this allows us to continue with similar payments but get the house paid off in 10 years less (or more if we continue with the debt snowball and add payments to the mortgage). I had a couple of conversations with our lawyer and he’s moving ahead with all the paperwork and calls with the current mortgage company, the new mortgage company, title insurance, surveys, etc. We should be done with this in a couple of weeks.
- There’s some progress in what may just be a second job / career. I’m quite excited about this as well as the second job / career, if it works out, would help me hone another hidden skill. This also would help me give back to the community someway, somehow. Let’s see how this goes.
- We’re just about finished with Financial Peace University. We’re down to the last class. It’s been an amazing journey through FPU. We learned a lot, even with all the financial knowledge we know. I highly recommend this to all our friends and families. If you haven’t done FPU before, I urge you to sign up and hopefully this would bless your family as it has ours.
- I finished the second week of Insanity. It’s been an “Insane” couple of weeks. I’m quite proud of myself for this one. Having the discipline to go dedicate 45 minutes of my day, 6 days a week, to exercising and working on my physical health is quite impressive, specially for me. The fit test is today, and I hope that there’s some progress in the results that I can report.
That’s it for now. Things are starting to slow down a bit as our finances start going to a steady state instead of the craziness we’ve been going through the past few months.

How was your fitness test? And what's coming up in Insanity for next week?
It went ok, much better than the first fit test. I actually halted Insanity after the camping trip, but have been casually doing my own thing here and there. Waiting for a shorter routine (10-minute trainer) to come in the mail and try that next.
